Professor Kim Seung-wook Named among the World's Top 2% Scientists

Professor Kim Seung-wook of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Sogang University has been named among the World's Top 2% Scientists. The 'global top 2% researchers' list is the final selection of the top 2% of researchers made by Stanford University in the United States and the global academic information analytics company Elsevier from an analysis of the impact of researchers' papers worldwide based on Scopus, a leading paper indexing and citation database. Korea ranks 15th in the world by the number of researchers in this top 2%. The analysis converts six main evaluation indicators into a score for papers indexed in Scopus: total citations, h-index, hm-index adjusted for co-authorship, and citation counts for papers in the roles of sole author, sole or first author, and sole author, first author or corresponding author.

Since 2010 Professor Kim Seung-wook has published some 130 SCI(E)-class papers as sole author on the application of game theory to intelligent network systems, contributing greatly to establishing the theoretical foundations of 6G communications. In particular, by applying cooperative game models to time-limited situations he has proposed a range of unique solutions that guarantee invariance under affine transformation, laying the groundwork for a new scientific paradigm in resource management for next-generation network systems. On the strength of these research achievements, Professor Kim also received the Albatross Academic Award from the Sogang University alumni association this year.
