Dr Ryu Jun-su (pictured), a graduate of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Sogang University, was appointed as an assistant professor in the School of Computer Science & Engineering at Korea Cyber University with effect from September 2026.

Dr Ryu Jun-su received his bachelor's degree from Sogang University in 2015 with a double major in mathematics and computer science & engineering. He then entered the combined master's–doctoral programme of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Sogang University and received his doctorate in 2026 under the supervision of Professor Kim Seung-wook.

His main research fields are wireless network security and intelligent routing; he has studied techniques for countering security threats in distributed wireless networks using reinforcement learning, game theory and trust management. On the strength of this work he has steadily published research results, including a number of papers in SCI(E)-class international journals. Alongside his research, he has taught computer science courses at several universities since completing his doctoral coursework, building experience and capability as an educator.

Dr Ryu Jun-su said: "I am deeply grateful to Professor Kim Seung-wook for his unstinting guidance and support throughout my long course of study. I am also grateful to my alma mater, Sogang University, whose flexible double-major system laid the foundation for me to grow while studying mathematics and computer science & engineering together."

He added: "At Korea Cyber University I want to help students acquire not only theoretical knowledge of computer science but also the ability to solve real problems," and set out his aspirations: "I will continue my research on secure and intelligent networks to contribute to the university's teaching and research, and beyond that to the advancement of the discipline and the industry."
