The paper, titled 'Analysis of Many-Core Performance and Scalability of a Log-Structured File System', demonstrated increased I/O write performance by resolving, with fine-grained range locks, the bottleneck in parallel single-file writes in F2FS — a file system optimized for SSDs developed by Samsung Electronics. The research is expected to be usable in improving I/O performance for database applications or HPC checkpoint write applications.
The Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers conference is an information science and technology conference at which the latest research results across every area of information technology — artificial intelligence, computer systems, the Internet of Things, databases and more — are presented.
