Professor Kim Seung-wook's Published Academic Book Indexed in the Web of Science

'Game Theory Solutions for the Internet of Things: Emerging Research and Opportunities' (https://www.igi-global.com/gateway/book/169307), the second academic book published by Professor Kim Seung-wook of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering in 2017, was indexed in the Web of Science's Book Citation Index in January 2023. Published by the distinguished international publisher IGI Global (Pennsylvania, USA), this book is a sequel to 'Game Theory Applications in Network Design' (2014) and explains how game theory — mathematically grounded and long used in economics — can be applied to IoT networks. Since publication it has been selected as a key reference work in the field and included in the reading lists of related graduate courses in several countries. IGI Global has recognized the book's academic contribution by designating it a recommended title, and it was formally indexed in Scopus in the year of publication.

The Web of Science is a web database that allows simultaneous online searching of the citation index databases provided by Clarivate Analytics — SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded), SSCI (Social Sciences Citation Index) and A&HCI (Arts & Humanities Citation Index). It provides links for directly searching full-text information for academic books and electronic journals, journal holdings information and other database information, and is currently the most trusted comprehensive academic index. The IoT network game models presented in Professor Kim Seung-wook's 'Game Theory Solutions for the Internet of Things: Emerging Research and Opportunities' — congestion control, network routing, network load balancing, communication security, bandwidth pricing, wireless cooperative communication, traffic control, power control, resource allocation and quality-of-service guarantee models — can be widely applied not only in communication networks but also in other disciplines where the most rational action is chosen while taking account of a competing counterpart's response. Its indexing in the Web of Science's Book Citation Index is therefore expected to contribute greatly to the advancement of the field.
