The Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers conference (KSC 2019) is an information science and technology conference at which the latest research results across every area of information technology — artificial intelligence, computer systems, information security and high-assurance computing and more — are presented. The paper, titled 'SSD GUARD: Protecting Files from High-Privilege Data Tampering Attacks', successfully protects users' sensitive files even when their computer has been infected by malware. Rather than relying on a computer at risk of infection, SSD GUARD builds a file protection authentication system inside the storage firmware. The research is expected to be applicable as a system for individuals or companies to protect various kinds of sensitive files securely.
