Through this range of outstanding work in industry–academia education and workforce development, he contributed to expanding student employment and strengthening industry competitiveness, and was accordingly recommended for the commendation and received this ministerial honour.

The Industry–Academia Cooperation Expo, now in its eleventh year since 2008, has served as a forum in which industry, academia and the research community share the outlook and currents of industry–academia cooperation and specialists from all quarters exchange views on related policy and outcomes.

Under the slogan 'Moving the World!', the 2018 Industry–Academia Cooperation Expo brought together 983 booths from 418 organizations, addressing a range of industry–academia themes including industry-linked workforce development, university technology transfer, community cooperation and entrepreneurship.
