AI powered Robotics
Research Introduction
Our research focuses on the practical application and deployment of system-based robotics and artificial intelligence in real-world industrial settings. Driven by active industry-academic collaboration, our research projects and partnerships originate directly from challenges faced by local industries and municipalities. We integrate these efforts with undergraduate Capstone Design courses, guiding students to directly explore the field applicability of robotics and AI technologies. Going beyond software-centric AI, our goal is to foster hands-on learning closely tied to hardware systems usable in real industry. Demonstrating the success of this approach, a student team under our mentorship won the Grand Prize at the 2025 Seocho AI Robot Public Service Competition. Looking forward, to address the rapidly growing demand for musculoskeletal surgeries driven by an aging population, our future research is centered on end-to-end platform technologies for personalized surgical robotics—spanning custom diagnosis, surgical procedures, and post-operative care. In alignment with this strategic direction, we currently serve as an advisory professor for Connecteve, a specialized surgical robotics startup.
